UX RESEARCH
EXPLORATORY RESEARCH ON SHOWING AGENT'S PRODUCTION ON HOMEPAGE
CONTEXT
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Sequis Life is an Indonesian insurance company that has been providing protection to Indonesians since 1984. I did a six-month internship as a User Experience Researcher at Sequis Life, I had the opportunity to work within the Innovation Lab department - a dedicated team focused on driving the company's digital transformation efforts. During my internship I did projects on Sequis Pro, a mobile application for insurance agents.
INSURANCE IN INDONESIA
Due to low awareness of insurance among Indonesians, a community-based approach is necessary. Insurance agents play a vital role in selling insurance products and educating customers.
OVERVIEW
BACKGROUND
Based on past research it has been revealed that each agent has their own target. To provide a more personalized homepage, UI Designers have an initiative to show their production progress in hopes of increasing their motivation to do sales.
DURATION
November 2022 - January 2023
AIM AND OBJECTIVES
Since agents create Sales Illustrations directly on Sequis Pro app when meeting clients, we want to find out whether they would be uncomfortable if their production progress was shown upfront.
TOOLS
Typeform, Figma
PROCESS
Drafting research plan and discussion guidelines
Creating the online survey on Typeform
Synthesizing data
Collaborating with UI Designers to make the homepage design alternatives
Contacting agents to fill in and help distribute the survey
Presenting the results to stakeholders
METHODOLOGY
ONLINE SURVEY
As part of our survey, we included hypothetical questions to gauge participants' discomfort level in disclosing their earnings to fellow agents and potential customers, and then we asked them to rate 3 sample homepage designs.

FINDINGS
Participants feel rather happy, proud, and motivated if their production progress is shown on the homepage.
1. Participants prefer a more dynamic design with progress bar since it's more motivating.

2. Participants would happily and proudly answer if they were asked their earnings.
Participants generally felt positive about disclosing their earnings to customers and willing to provide truthful answers. However, some participants expressed reservations, indicating the need to consider both perspectives in our design approach.
IMPACT
This project is currently ongoing and set to be developed.
Through our initial findings we have discovered a multitude of potential avenues for further exploration, not only in the realm of research but also in design.
